Black Heritage is a Registered Charity
which promotes the welfare and social wellbeing of the members of the
Caribbean Community in Southampton.

Black Heritage is run by the members for the members, and while our main focus is on this particular group
the group is inclusive and welcomes new members from the wider community.

We are open to all on Tuesday, Wednesday and
Thursday from 2 pm until 6 pm .Thursday, Saturday and Sunday from 7.30pm till 11pm


We participate various group activities and social events and raise funds.  Arts, crafts, singing, drama dominoes and other games are some of what we do.



Membership is£15.00 per year.
There is a small entry fee, this   is collected on arrival.
The committee is made up of elected
members and meet 4 times per year. There is an Annual General Meeting
in July. A Christmas meal and dance in December.
There is a small patio garden which the
members maintain and enjoy during the summer.

This anthology was done by members of Black Heritage in conjunction with Solent University.  

The English Collective at Solent University has collaborated with Black Heritage  to bring together  intriguing stories, mouth watering recipes and heartfelt poetry in this scrapbook full of memories. This book is available on Amazon for £9.99 all profits from book sale will benefit The Black Heritage Association. 


Mayflower folk workshop

On June 18th  and 25th  at 2 until 4 pm Black Heritage will be hosting two workshops on Journeys this is being led by Nazeem Ahmed. Please come and join us

 

Hands of love 

On August 31st at 10 am  Black Heritage will be participating in celebrating diversity open air art experience at Guildhall Square.This is a free event with free lunch. 11 different communities working with Unity 101 community radio  and other sponsors.All are welcome 

 Windrush Day Celebration

June 22nd from 12-6 pm  at Rope walk  Community Garden,53 Derby Road we will be celebrating Windrush Day.

This is a free family event with live music,street food and more.All welcome
